2.Whom should I see, Dr. Daniel Wang or Dr. Anna Zhao

They each have their own specialties. Both Doctors are trained TCM Doctors and Acupuncturists, but Dr. Wang is also a very skilled RMT, with many years of experience in massage. His massage is deep tissue massage; a mixture style of Chinese and Western. For those who prefer less pressure in treatment, he also does somatic massage, using his special techniques bringing the connection between the body, mind and spirit.

Dr. Anna Zhao is skilled in treating physical pain. If you would like to try acupuncture for your physical injuries, it may be better to see Dr. Anna Zhao first, as in addition to traditional acupuncture, she has experience using subcutaneous needles which is a very effective way to alleviate physical pain, and whenever necessary, she uses herbal medicine for better effect. Dr. Zhao loves to treat internal medicine, and is experienced in eye therapy as well. To help her patients overcome imbalances and diseases, she uses multiple modalities, not only acupuncture but acupressure, herbal medicine, meditation therapy such as Qi Gong, as well as her comprehensive understanding of nutritional therapy. Dr. Zhao’s herbs are mostly in concentrated powder or capsule form. These forms of Chinese herbs are easy to take, and usually, all you need to do is to add some warm water and drink the medicine. Dr. Zhao believes strongly that a health issue is mainly the result of internal imbalance and that it is best to correct the imbalance at the earliest stage. Hence, she likes to address the root of a health problem by emphasizing a holistic approach by including the integration of emotions, lifestyle, and a dietary plan into her treatment plan. Through her clinical practices she developed her own diagnostic techniques to detect the early signs of a health issue, with intervention in the early stage of a health problem, helping her patients prevent minor problems from becoming serious health issues.

3.How does Dr. Zhao treat eyes?

Primarily she uses herbal medicine, both internal and external. Sometimes acupuncture is utilized, but needles in precise points surrounding eyes are only used for those diagnosed with severe eye diseases and with a client’s fully informed request. For a preliminary consultation about eye treatment, it is always better to phone 236-591-3635 before coming to the clinic. Dr. Zhao makes her herbal formula fresh for her eye patients, and requires at least a day’s notice so she can prepare an herbal formula tailored for your specific requirements.

4.Can children come for a treatment?

Absolutely. We have seen many kids in the past and the effects have been very positive. For children, we normally focus more on using massage, guasha, cupping, external medicine as well as qigong which is a great way to help with stress, anxiety, lack of focus and energy.

5.What do I expect for my first visit?

For your first visit, you can bring some test results or medical documents with you, but it is not indispensable. For us, it is much more important that we have a complete picture of your physical and mental state, your symptoms, your daily activities, your lifestyle, your daily diet, your habits and so on.

6.How often should I come and how many treatment sessions do I need?

For massage and acupuncture treatments, we encourage patients to come once or twice a week until they see evidence of symptom reduction. Once the symptoms are significantly reduced, we will adjust the frequency of your treatments accordingly. For Chinese herbal medicine, we normally prepare enough to last 7 days and adjust the herbal formula each time you visit.

7.Is my treatment covered by insurance?

Our treatments are possibly covered under your extended health group insurance policy if you have one. We do not do direct billing for your treatments. After the treatment, we will email your receipt so you can go online to the insurance company for the reimbursement.

8.How much does one treatment cost?

For acupuncture and TCM treatments the cost is $120 an hour. For Deep Needle Eye Therapy, it is $150 an hour. For massage, it is charged based on the treatment time; $80 for 30 minutes, $110 for 45 minutes, $140 for 1 hour,$165 for 75 minutes, and $190 for an hour and half. The fee is subject to change without notice. The cost adjustment is usually made every 2 years.
