Dr. Zhao graduated from the University of
British Columbia with a Master's Degree. She is a registered Doctor of TCM, and
a registered Acupuncturist in British Columbia, Canada. She apprenticed with
Fengfeng, a famous Buddhist practitioner; Sun Chulin, a well-known Somatic
Science Master; and Dr. Shusheng Tai.
Dr. Zhao is dedicated to discovering the inner
connection between the body, mind and disease. She works to unblock the energy
of mind and body by combining Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), psychology,
qigong, and meditation.
Besides her experience
treating physical pain and injuries, Dr. Zhao had special training in TCM ophthalmology and treatment of complex diseases including
cancer and other internal medical issues. She has a strong passion to treat emotional
issues, as well as challenging health issues such as eye problems, chronic
fatigue, radiation/chemotherapy-induced syndrome, digestive disorders, autoimmune
disorders, endocrine disorders, skin conditions, diabetes, and vascular
diseases.
Dr. Zhao strongly
believes that the power of mind plays a huge role in our healing, and that
acupuncture does much more than providing relief for physical pain. For certain
medical cases, Dr. Zhao even does treatments without needles; instead, she uses
qigong (medical meditation), energy, acupressure massage, and herbs etc., to
achieve the healing effect. This flexibility in approach expands her clientele beyond
adults to include children, teenagers and seniors.
Dr. Zhao studied in Malaysia under the world-renowned TCM Ophthalmologist
Dr. Cheah Ah Kow (Dr. Xie Qi), becoming well versed in Deep-Needle Eye Therapy. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Zhao continues writing and has published some spiritual novels and poetry collections.
